Certified Nursing Assistant IIThe Certified Nursing Assistant II performs specific responsibilities under the direction and supervision of a licensed nurse. Functions within the framework of the NAII listing granted by the NC Board of Nursing. Practices within the philosophy and goals of patient care services. In addition, the Nursing Assistant may be utilized in the Observer Role responsible for monitoring one or more assigned patients on a designated unit for a specified time period.Responsibilities include participating in quality improvement activities, problem solving resolution activities, data collection, employing safe practices, infection control, and fire and disaster regulations. Participates in cost savings activities, attends and utilizes staff development programs, fulfills annual mandatory educational requirements, participates in the orientation of new staff and students, follows hospital and unit based policies and procedures, builds interpersonal relations and communications, makes unit, department and hospital contributions, assists in providing direct patient care, performs other duties as assigned, monitors the patient for signs of escalating behaviors, maintains level of observation according to the patient's plan of care, communicates effectively with the patient's care team, documents accurately on established workflows within the medical record, provides hazard surveillance and reduces risk within the patient's physical environment, and engages patient appropriately in distraction activities as needed.Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or GED, active NAI listing with NC Department of Health & Human Services, active NAII listing with North Carolina Board of Nursing, current American Heart Association HeartSaver or higher certification, and de-escalation training. Pay range is $18.00 - $23.31.
