A Nursing Assistant provides patient-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), and is essential to keeping the unit functioning smoothly. Gain valuable, hands-on experience while changing the lives of your patients at Sanford Health!ResponsibilitiesProvide assistance with basic health care needs including bathing, grooming, toileting, and eating, while supporting emotional and spiritual needsRecord vital statistics, blood glucose levels, and other basic health informationAssist with patient transfers and ambulationPerform clerical work related to scheduling and documenting patient healthcarePrepare and clean patient treatment areas, living areas, and medical equipmentDispose of biomedical waste in accordance with standards and policyQualificationsHigh school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required. Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is preferred. Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications.If working in North Dakota (ND) and not a Certified Nursing Assistant, must be on the North Dakota Department of Health Nurse Aide Registry upon completion of training/competency validation or a maximum of four months from the date of initial employment.If working in Wisconsin, must be on the Wisconsin Nurse Aide Registry with current work eligibility or a student nurse, currently enrolled at a school approved by the Wisconsin Board of Nursing, who has completed a basic nursing course and 16 hours of clinical experience.Sanford is an EEO/AA Employer M/F/Disability/Vet.
