Nursing Assistant – Skilled Nursing Unit (SNU) - Full TimeProvide compassionate care that enhances quality of life. As a Nursing Assistant, you'll work alongside a dedicated healthcare team to provide exceptional care in a supportive environment.$5,000.00 sign-on bonus if eligibleThe Nursing Assistant works under the direction of the professional nursing staff to provide direct resident care within the Skilled Nursing Unit. Compliance with rules and regulations of all federal, state, and local governments is a requirement of employment. 2. Provides direct care to assure resident comfort. 3. Participates in team conferences and care planning. 4. Prepares residents for meals, assists in feeding. 5. Maintains resident's rights. 6. Makes rounds. Anticipates resident needs and responds to call lights. 7. Reports to appropriate nursing personnel pertinent information including any changes observed in condition or behavior of resident. 8. Provides input into resident care plans. 9. Assists in maintaining safe and clean environment. 10. Other duties assigned, reasonably related. 11. Assists in orientation of nursing assistants. 12. Completes daily documentation. 13. Keeps informed of fire, safety, and disaster programs. 14. Attends designated in-service programs. 15. Participates in Performance Improvement activities. 16. Attends staff meetings.Routine, repetitive duties with minor variations under close supervision Good concentration, ability to interact with all age, social and economic levels The ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects by planning and organizing own work Daily stress associated with the care of chronic patient population Adaptable to stressful, ever-changing situationsCaregivers must be active participants in quality improvement processes: Identifying areas where quality improvement processes can be applied Collecting & organizing quality measurement data Participate on quality teamsDaily contact with clients at all levels, including managers and employeesOccasionally required to push, move, and/or lift 100+ pounds Occasionally required to push, move and/or lift object weighing up to 60 pounds Considerable walking, standing, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting and sittingTasks involve exposure to blood, body fluids, or other tissues and communicable diseases. Other duties as assigned.High School Diploma or GED preferred. Previous nursing assistant experience preferred, but not required. Ability to read, write, and understand written and verbal communication. Must follow universal precautions and utilize proper body mechanics. Maintains CPR certification. Act 34 Criminal Background Check required.Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Certification required within 120 days of hire through verified reciprocity or successful completion of a CNA training program. CPR/AED Certification required.Compassionate, resident-centered approach to care. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team. Excellent observation and reporting skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and respond to resident needs. Commitment to resident dignity, safety, and quality of care. Strong organizational and time management skills.Compensation is based on experience and applicable organizational pay practices. Pennsylvania positions: Compensation is determined based on experience, qualifications, and organizational pay practices.Provides direct care to residents over 16 years of age, with the majority of care provided to elderly residents. Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting throughout the workday. Ability to lift, push, or move residents and equipment weighing up to 100 pounds with appropriate assistance and equipment. Regular exposure to blood, body fluids, communicable diseases, and other healthcare-related hazards. Frequently exposed to disagreeable sights, sounds, odors, and body waste. Must comply with all federal, state, local, and organizational policies regarding resident care and safety. Participates in ongoing education, performance improvement initiatives, staff meetings, and required in-service training. Other duties may be assigned based on departmental needs.
