Nursing Assistant Opportunity at Baptist Health LexingtonNursing Assistants play a vital role in providing compassionate, patient-centered care while working alongside a supportive interdisciplinary team. Care for a diverse patient population, including medical, cardiac, telemetry, orthopedic, neuro, spine, stroke, and post-surgical patients. If you enjoy a dynamic environment, meaningful patient interactions, and opportunities to learn and grow, this is the place for you.Available Shifts:Full-Time Days: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (3 shifts per week)Part-Time Days: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM (1-2 shifts per week)Under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) or licensed care team member, the Nursing Assistant II provides direct patient care and support services to patients and families. This role performs selected nursing procedures and routine patient care to assist nursing personnel in treatment, comfort, and safety.Essential duties and responsibilities:Provide hands-on care to postpartum mothers and newbornsAssist patients with activities of daily living (bathing, feeding, hygiene)Take and record vital signs accuratelyPerform blood glucose monitoring, EKGs, venipuncture, and specimen collection as delegatedSupport ambulation, transfers, and postpartum recovery needsRespond promptly to patient/family needs and call lightsMaintain patient safety, dignity, and privacyAssist with admissions, discharges, and transitions of careParticipate in unit tasks including restocking supplies, linen management, and basic clerical dutiesMinimum qualifications:Education: High School Diploma or GED requiredLicensure/Certification: Current Kentucky Nurse Aide Certification required OR completion of first year of nursing school with successful clinical validation. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hireExperience: Previous healthcare experience preferred but not requiredSkills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a care team. Detail-oriented with sound judgment and clinical observation skillsPhysical requirements: Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting. Ability to safely assist or move patients.
