Job Title: MED-SURG
Location: Moab, Utah
Schedule: 7:00PM - 7:00AM x 3
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate : $59 - $63/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a MED-SURG for a temporary assignment in Moab, Utah. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a MED-SURG:
Perform a wide range of general nursing duties, providing direct and indirect patient care in the medical-surgical department
Provide care for patients ranging from post-partum neonates to geriatrics across medical, surgical, high acuity, rehabilitative, skilled, and pediatric areas
Work anticipated schedule of 7 days on, 7 days off per bi-weekly pay period on night shifts (6PM to 6AM)
Maintain current, unencumbered Utah or compact state RN license
Maintain current BLS certification; obtain and maintain current ACLS and PALS certifications within one year of hire if not already obtained
Earn NRP certification and provide patient care appropriate to certification within one year of hire
Apply knowledge of infection control principles, patient safety techniques, and prevention of adverse reactions to medications and treatments
Demonstrate critical thinking skills and ability to maintain composure in situations with rapidly changing circumstances
Work successfully both independently and as part of a team
Provide excellent customer service and communication, including oral, written, and listening skills
Receive and manage sensitive information professionally while maintaining confidentiality at all times
Handle stressful situations calmly and professionally
Maintain reliability and timeliness with work schedule
Expand skill sets into post-partum care, infusion, and wound therapies as opportunities arise
Cross-train in the Emergency Department and/or PACU as opportunities arise
Accept flexibility and willingness to take on other duties as assigned
