Job description

Nursing Manager / Assistant Director of Nursing

Kansas City, MO | Primarily Onsite | Specialty Home Infusion

We’re partnering with a growing specialty home infusion provider in Kansas City on a Nursing Manager / Assistant Director of Nursing opportunity.

This is a highly visible clinical leadership role that sits directly beneath the Director of Nursing and offers a unique mix of people leadership, clinical oversight, quality improvement, and hands-on patient care. It’s a great opportunity for an experienced infusion nurse who wants to step further into leadership without moving completely away from the clinical side.

You’ll help lead nursing operations across both in-home care and ambulatory infusion settings, support and develop the nursing team, ensure strong clinical and regulatory standards, and serve as a key partner to pharmacy, physicians, patients, and caregivers.

What You’ll Be Doing

Partner with the Director of Nursing on day-to-day clinical operations

Supervise and support nurses providing home infusion and infusion suite care

Assist with staffing, scheduling, and clinical coverage

Lead nurse onboarding, training, competency assessments, and continuing education

Review nursing assessments, care plans, and clinical documentation

Ensure compliance with ACHC and other applicable regulatory requirements

Support quality assurance, infection control, adverse event monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives

Participate in audits, inspections, and accreditation reviews

Coordinate closely with physicians, pharmacists, patients, and caregivers

Provide direct infusion nursing care in patient homes and clinical settings as needed

Support vascular access management and specialty infusion therapies

Serve as Acting Director of Nursing when needed

Help strengthen and develop nursing operations as the organization continues to grow

What We’re Looking For

3+ years of nursing experience

IV infusion experience required

2+ years of home infusion or specialty infusion experience strongly preferred

Previous nursing leadership, supervisory, or team-lead experience preferred

Familiarity with specialty biologic therapies preferred

Exposure to regulatory compliance, accreditation, or quality initiatives

Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills

Comfortable balancing leadership responsibilities with direct patient care

Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license required

What Will Make Someone Successful

We’re looking for someone who is confident clinically, comfortable working independently, and genuinely enjoys supporting and developing other nurses.

The right person will be organized, adaptable, patient-focused, and comfortable wearing multiple hats in a smaller, growing healthcare environment. This role requires someone who can move easily between leadership, operations, documentation review, quality initiatives, and direct patient care.

Why This Opportunity

This role offers the chance to step into a true leadership position while remaining close to patient care. You’ll have direct visibility with the Director of Nursing, meaningful influence over how the clinical team operates, and the opportunity to help shape nursing processes, training, quality standards, and overall program growth.

You’ll also be joining a close-knit team in a specialty area where the work has a direct impact on patients receiving complex therapies outside of the hospital setting.

Location: Kansas City area

Schedule: Full-time, primarily onsite with travel to patient homes and infusion locations as needed

Travel: Local travel throughout the service area

Additional Availability: Occasional evenings, weekends, and on-call coverage may be required

If you’re an experienced infusion nurse looking to move further into leadership while staying clinically involved, we’d love to connect.
