About This Role

The Nursing Professional Development Practitioner (NPD) is a Registered Nurse responsible for influencing professional role competence and growth of learners in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). This role collaborates with nursing leadership to support competency management, clinical education, and onboarding of new colleagues.

Schedule: Part Time, Day shift

What You'll Do

Support learners within the Nursing Professional Development framework.

Collaborate with nursing leadership to foster competency management.

Influence clinical nursing education and professional role development.

Standardize policies and promote collaborative partnerships.

Engage in scientific inquiry and transition to practice.

Onboard and orient new Hartford HealthCare colleagues.

Develop, deliver, and evaluate educational programs.

Conduct educational needs assessments.

Demonstrate leadership skills to promote continuous quality improvement.

Requirements

Education: BSN required and enrolled in a Master's program with degree completion within two years of hire date.

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of active clinical nursing experience.

At least 1 year of experience in an acute care environment.

One year of relevant teaching experience preferred.

Licenses & Certifications: Licensed Registered Nurse from the CT DPH obtained prior to hire date.

NPD or Clinical Specialty Certification within two years of hire/transfer.

BLS required.
