Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) Employment Type: Travel Nursing Assignment Setting: Surgical / Operating Room / Perioperative Services Location: Virginia Beach, VA Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130 - $2,250 Start Date: 11/2/2026 Duration: 9 weeks Shift: 12-hour nights Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 36 hours per week Job Requirements Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia or compact licensure eligible Minimum of 1 year of recent Operating Room RN or surgical nursing experience Strong knowledge of perioperative nursing standards, sterile technique, and surgical safety protocols Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced operating room environment Excellent communication, teamwork, and critical thinking skills Comfortable supporting both routine and complex surgical cases Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care to patients before, during, and after surgical procedures Assist the surgical team with operating room preparation, instrument handling, and patient positioning Maintain sterile field practices and follow all safety protocols to support quality patient care Monitor patient status throughout the perioperative process and respond to changes as needed Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and fellow clinical staff to support high-quality surgical outcomes Document patient care accurately and promptly according to clinical and facility standards Support a safe, efficient, and patient-centered surgical services workflow If you are an experienced travel OR RN looking for your next Virginia nursing job in a rewarding surgical setting, we encourage you to apply now.
