As the Nursing Unit Manager, you will play a vital leadership role in ensuring the delivery of exceptional, resident-centered care while supporting and developing a high-performing nursing team. Working closely with the Director of Nursing, you will help drive clinical excellence, regulatory compliance, quality improvement initiatives, and a culture of compassion that enhances the lives of our residents every day.
Key Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day leadership and oversight of nursing operations to ensure safe, high-quality resident care.
Supervise, coach, and support nursing staff through scheduling, performance management, training, and ongoing development.
Oversee resident assessments, care planning, physician orders, clinical documentation, and interdisciplinary care coordination.
Promote compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations, quality assurance standards, and survey readiness.
Monitor infection prevention, resident safety, and risk management practices while supporting continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Collaborate with the Director of Nursing on departmental planning, staffing, budgeting, policy development, and operational improvements.
Education, Experience & Licensure
Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Hawaii.
Previous nursing experience in a hospital, skilled nursing, long-term care, or other healthcare setting, with demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of long-term care regulations, nursing standards, infection prevention, rehabilitation and restorative nursing practices, and quality assurance processes.
Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills with the ability to effectively support staff, residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
Must be at least 18 years of age, proficient in written and spoken English, and committed to providing compassionate care to older adults.
