Sharp Rees-Stealy Medical Group/Sharp Mary Birch Hospital for Women and Newborns
OB Nocturnist-Full-Time Contract - San Diego, CA
Sharp Mary Birch Hospital for Women & Newborns is Southern Californias only standalone womens hospital. SMB is part of Sharp HealthCare, is a 206 bed, not for profit hospital delivering more babies than any other hospital in California.
Shift rate: $2,500/shift (12 hrs)
PAID Malpractice and Tail coverage
Hospital shifts: 7:00pm to 7:00am
2-night shifts per week (or 8 night shifts per month, some flexibility with number of shifts per week if desired) considered full-time
Clinic shifts: 8:00am-5:00pm (optional)
Full specialty back up including 24 hr perinatal and GYN/ONC service w/dedicated OB anesthesia
Responsible for L&D, triage, postpartum, ED Calls and occasional GYN emergency surgery (ectopic)
Most calls taken with experienced CNMs. Back-up physicians always available
On-site overnight provider room
Hospital delivers ~9,000 babies per year, highest volume in the state of California!
Group delivers ~4,000 babies per year
Southern Californias largest Level III NICU, plus advanced care for high-risk pregnancy
Requirements:
Comfortable covering a busy L&D
Must be able to receive privileges for basic laparoscopy including management of ectopic pregnancies (must have completed 10 cases within the last 2 years to qualify
