Job description
Position Summary
nThe OBGYN physician provides comprehensive care for women, including routine check-ups, preventive care, and management of complex medical conditions related to the female reproductive system. The role involves delivering babies, performing surgery, and offering counseling and support to patients.
nKey Responsibilities
nnnPatient Care:
n
nnC onduct routine and specialized exams to assess women’s reproductive health.
n
nnManage and monitor pregnancies, including prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care.
n
nnDiagnose and treat gynecological conditions such as menstrual disorders, infertility, and pelvic pain.
n
nnDevelop and implement treatment plans, including medications, lifestyle changes, and surgical interventions.
n
nnSurgical Procedures:
n
nnP erforming gynecological surgery, including hysterectomies, laparoscopies, and other minimally invasive procedures.
n
nnConduct deliveries, including vaginal births and cesarean sections.
n
nnManage surgical complications and postoperative care.
n
nnPatient Counseling and Education:
n
nnProvide education on sexual and reproductive health, contraception, menopause, and other relevant topics.
n
nnOffer emotional support and counseling to patients and their families.
n
nnAddress patient concerns and answer questions regarding health conditions and treatment options .
n
nnCollaboration and Coordination:
n
nnWork closely with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, midwives, and specialists to provide integrated care.
n
nnCoordinate with hospital staff and other departments for the management of complex cases.
n
nnMaintain accurate and confidential patient records.
n
nnProfessional Development:
n
nnStay current with medical research, best practices, and advances in obstetrics and gynecology.
n
nnAttend continuing education courses, workshops, and conferences.
n
nnParticipate in professional organizations and committees.
n
nnAdministrative Duties:
n
nnEnsure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
n
nnManage patient schedules and oversee administrative tasks related to patient care.
n
nnHandle billing and documentation related to procedures and treatments.
n
n nQualifications:
nnnEducation: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
n
nnLicensure: Valid medical license to practice in the state of North Carolina
n
nnBoard Certification: Certification by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG)
n
nnOther Certifications: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
n
n nWorking Conditions:
nnnEnvironment: Clinic and Hospital
n
nnHours:
n
nnClinic Hours (Monday-Friday 8am-5pm)
n
nnRotating Hospital Call, which may include evening and weekend shifts, and extended hours, particularly for deliveries and emergencies.
n
nnPhysical Requirements: Ability to handle the physical demands of performing surgery, delivering babies, and working long hours.
n
