This regional medical center serves as a critical healthcare resource for the surrounding eastern Kentucky community. The facility features a 5-bed department and is a Level 4 trauma center, providing essential obstetric and gynecological services to an underserved rural population.
Opportunity:
Physician - Obstetrics and Gynecology
Job Details:
Call only position - no clinic responsibilities
Specific dates required: 11/24/2026 (orientation) through 11/30/2026 7am, and 12/22/2026 (orientation) through 12/28/2026 7am
Approximately 2 patient encounters per shift
Board certification required with active KY license or IMLC eligibility
ABLS, ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required
Credentialing timeframe approximately 30 days
Manage low risk pregnancies with full delivery services
Perform FHR interpretation including NST/CST/FSE
Conduct OB ultrasounds (Level I and Level II) with performance and interpretation capabilities
Perform routine deliveries including vaginal and low forceps
Decision-making for c-sections required
Manage complicated deliveries including c-sections, breech, multiple births, abruptions, and VBACs
Repair of 3rd and 4th degree lacerations required
Perform office and minor gynecology procedures including IUD, cystoscopy, colposcopy, cryosurgery, and LEEP
Provide surgical gynecology services including open, laparoscopic diagnostic/minor, and operative/major procedures
Lodging available at Hampton Inn or Holiday Inn in Hazard, KY
Nearest airports are Lexington, KY and Knoxville, TN
Compensation:
Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
