Locum Tenens OB/GYN Physician - Call Coverage in Hazard, Kentucky Explore a locum tenens OB/GYN physician job in Hazard, Kentucky, providing focused obstetric and gynecologic call coverage with no clinic responsibilities. This per diem opportunity offers the chance to support patients in a close-knit Appalachian community known for its scenic mountain surroundings, outdoor recreation, and welcoming small-town atmosphere. The assignment includes two scheduled coverage periods and approximately two patient encounters per shift.
Job Details Specialty: Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN) Opportunity Type: Per diem locum tenens physician job Coverage: Call only; no clinic responsibilities Coverage Dates: November 24, 2026, including orientation, through November 30, 2026, at 7:00 a.m.; December 22, 2026, including orientation, through December 28, 2026, at 7:00 a.m. Patient Volume: Approximately 2 patient encounters per shift Department Size: 5 beds Trauma Level: Level IV Weekly Estimated Pay: $6,480-$7,670 Location: Hazard, Kentucky OB/GYN Physician Job Requirements At least 1 year of experience practicing in obstetrics and gynecology Board certification is required Current physician licensure and eligibility to practice in Kentucky Current ABLS, ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications Proficiency in low-risk pregnancy management and fetal heart rate interpretation, including NST, CST, and FSE Ability to perform and interpret Level I and Level II obstetric ultrasounds Competence with routine vaginal delivery, low-forceps delivery, and decision-making for cesarean section Experience managing complicated deliveries, including cesarean delivery, breech presentation, multiple births, abruptions, and VBACs Ability to repair third- and fourth-degree lacerations Experience with office and minor gynecologic procedures, including IUD placement, cystoscopy, colposcopy, cryosurgery, and LEEP Experience with open and laparoscopic gynecologic surgery, including diagnostic and minor procedures Operative gynecologic experience with cases such as ectopic pregnancy, oophorectomy, cystectomy, and extensive lysis of adhesions Locum Tenens OB/GYN Physician Responsibilities Provide obstetric and gynecologic care during scheduled call coverage periods Evaluate and manage patients presenting with routine and complicated pregnancy-related conditions Perform vaginal deliveries, low-forceps deliveries, and cesarean sections as clinically indicated Manage breech presentations, multiple births, abruptions, VBACs, and other high-risk delivery situations Interpret fetal monitoring studies and obstetric ultrasound findings Perform and interpret indicated gynecologic procedures and diagnostic evaluations Complete repairs of third- and fourth-degree obstetric lacerations Perform minor, laparoscopic, and open gynecologic surgical procedures within scope of practice Collaborate with nursing and support teams to deliver timely, high-quality patient care Apply now for this locum tenens OB/GYN physician opportunity in Hazard, Kentucky.
