Locums OB/GYN Call Coverage La Porte, IN Why This Role Defined Thanksgiving coverage block
Additional coverage anticipated in 2027
Low annual delivery volume
Multiple physicians may be considered
Assignment Details Coverage Block: November 26 at 7:00 AM ÄìNovember 30 at 7:00 AM
Future Need: Additional dates expected in 2027
Coverage Type: Beeper call only
Setting: Inpatient
Call Response Time: 30 minutes
Patient Volume: Approximately 10 per shift
Admissions: Approximately one to two
Annual Deliveries: Approximately 100
Rounding: Assigned and unassigned patients
EMR: Cerner
Credentialing: Approximately 30 days
Temporary Privileges: Available
Requirements Board-Certified OB/GYN
Active Indiana medical license
Active Indiana CSR and Indiana DEA
Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS
Clean NPDB and background
Adequate recent OB/GYN case logs
Current laser certification
Ability to respond within 30 minutes
Clinical Details Provide inpatient OB/GYN beeper-call coverage
Manage low-risk pregnancies and interpret fetal heart-rate monitoring
Perform and interpret obstetric ultrasounds
Attend routine vaginal and complicated deliveries
Perform cesarean sections and make operative-delivery decisions
Manage breech deliveries, multiple births, and placental abruptions
Perform low-forceps deliveries
Repair third- and fourth-degree lacerations
Provide open and major operative Gynecology coverage
Manage ectopic pregnancies and perform oophorectomy, cystectomy, and extensive lysis of adhesions
No APP, resident, or teaching supervision responsibilities
