Locum OB/GYN Physician Petersburg, VA

What You ll DoProvide OB/GYN hospital and call coverage.

Participate in 24-hour call coverage with clinic responsibilities.

Evaluate and treat obstetric and gynecologic patients.

Perform C-sections and vaginal deliveries.

Perform suction D&Cs, including procedures related to abnormal bleeding.

Evaluate and manage ectopic pregnancies and ovarian torsion.

Document patient care in the EPIC electronic medical record system.

What You Need

Required

OB/GYN qualifications appropriate for hospital and call coverage.

Ability to perform C-sections, vaginal deliveries, suction D&Cs, and related gynecologic procedures.

Experience using or willingness to work with the EPIC EMR.

Preferred

Local availability in or near Petersburg, Virginia.

Clean professional background and malpractice history to support expedited temporary approval, when applicable.

Experience providing hospital-based OB/GYN and call coverage.

About the Assignment

This locum assignment supports a hospital-based OB/GYN service with 9 labor and delivery beds and 20 postpartum beds. The care team includes OB hospitalists, surgical assistants, and nursing support. Most high-risk cases are managed by maternal-fetal medicine, while the assigned physician may provide coverage for deliveries, rounding, clinic care, and routine obstetric and gynecologic procedures.
