Locum OB Hospitalist - OB Emergency Department St. Louis, Missouri IMLC Accepted No Call High-Volume OB ED Referral Bonus Available
Key Candidate Requirements Specialty: OB Hospitalist - OB Emergency DepartmentLicensure: Active Missouri license OR IMLC acceptedBoard Status: Board Certified or Board EligibleCertifications: ACLS and BLS requiredExperience: Comfortable in high-volume OB ED environment , strong triage and emergency obstetric experience preferred Assignment Details Start Date: August 1, 2026Assignment Type: Ongoing locumCoverage Need: 30-40 shifts per monthShift Schedule: 12-hour shifts : 7 AM - 7 PM and 7 PM - 7 AMConsecutive shifts: Determined by provider availabilityNo on-call shifts ; all shifts are hospital-based in-house Multiple locums may be used to cover full schedule Practice Setting Facility: Level I Trauma CenterLocation: OB ED - 12 bedsPatient Volume: 40-60 patients/dayEMR: EpicSupport Staff: RNs: 2-3 per shift depending on time of day; 2 dedicated to triage; 2-3 in treatment areaSonographer coverage: 18 hours/dayTech coverage: 12 hours/dayAPPs (PA, NP, Certified Nurse Midwives): 12-18 hours/day, supplement physician care Clinical Responsibilities Evaluate and manage pregnant patients up to 6 weeks postpartum Admit patients as neededManage assigned and unassigned patient roundingCollaborate closely with APPs, OB hospitalists, and nursing staff Manage OB ED diagnoses, including ectopic pregnancies and other urgent OB/GYN complaintsSupport high-volume, fast-paced environment with focus on team-based patient care Staffing Coverage Weekdays Day Shift: 2 OB GYNs in-house + 1 OB ED physicianAll Other Shifts (nights/weekends): 1 OB hospitalist in-house + 1 OB ED physicianAPP Support: Provides supplemental care to maintain coverage in 12-bed OB ED Notes Role is intended for OB providers , not EM providersFully hospital-based , no clinic-only shiftsMultiple locum providers may be scheduled to cover all required shifts Allow RecruitWell to set up a phone call with you and the client to discuss more!
