Job description
HS Diploma or equivalent required.
Medical Assistant certification required.
Minimum of 2 years Medical Assistant experience.
For NJ Only: Graduate of an accredited post-secondary medical assisting education program which includes, at a minimum, 330 hours of instruction and encompasses training in the administration of intramuscular and subcutaneous injections.
For internal Einstein applicants only: Medical Assistant certification is not required if a current Einstein employee in a Medical Assistant role with a hire date prior to 7/1/2024.
Experience in physician office or other healthcare setting preferred.
BLS Certification through American Heart Association must be obtained within 90 days of hire. BLS through the America Red Cross may be acceptable at some Pennsylvania practice locations.
The Lead Medical Assistant serves as a resource to other Medical Assistants within their office by mentoring, training and leading day to day operations. In addition to their Lead duties, they may also perform standard MA functions such as assisting patients and performing various diagnostic procedures such as EKGs, phlebotomy, injections and vitals. Covid Vaccination is a requirement for employment at Jefferson for employees working at Jefferson s clinical entities or at the University.
