nOccupational Therapist OTR/L We are looking for an exceptional and patient-focused Occupational Therapist to work with children in a private clinic based setting. You will offer effective and client-centered services that will enable our clients to confidently and independently carry out everyday tasks or activities. The successful candidate will have a holistic perspective and will be able to adapt the environment to fit the child. Experience with Autism and school age children is a plus!
nResponsibilities
nAddress client’s aspects of performance to support engagement in occupations that affect health, well-being and life quality
nSelect and adapt the appropriate per case occupational therapy treatment model, method and approach to direct the process of interventions
nApply interventions to maximize safety and performance in activities of daily living (ADL) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADL)
nTeach clients new ways of approaching tasks and educate them on how to break down activities into achievable components
nAssess client’s home and other environments and advice on alterations consistent with their needs and capabilities
nRecommend adaptive equipment and train in its use
nGuide and educate family members and caregivers
nObserve, note, and report on progress of long and short term treatment goals
nCollect data and document processes followed
nRegularly follow-up client
nWork within an interdisciplinary team of speech pathologists, BCBAs and behavioral technicians
nSkills
nProven working experience as occupational therapist
nExcellent knowledge of principles and practices of occupational therapy
nHands-on experience with computer programs and creative media
nFamiliarity with ADLs evaluation tools ( e.g. sensory profile etc)
nAbility to manage patients with different types of personalities
nCurrent knowledge of treatment practices per discipline and drive to continually learn and grow in the profession
nProfessional behavior
nExcellent interpersonal communication skills
nValid license to practice occupational therapy
