OPEN JOB: Occupational Therapist - Elderly Population
LOCATION: Elk Grove, California
BASE SALARY: $100,600 to $127,000
Ideal Candidate Must have adult or geriatric experience
Will not take pediatric experience only
outpatient, acute, inpatient, or skilled nursing experience.
SUMMARY: Our client is major PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) provider helps seniors stay in their homes and communities by providing comprehensive medical care and community-based services.
The Occupational Therapist coordinates and provides restorative and rehabilitative occupational therapy services, working closely with the PACE Physician, rehabilitation staff, and other IDT members to maximize participant independence and safety, as well as enhance performance of ADLs.
This role is different because: Lower patient volumes - no more seeing 3-4 patients an hour
Form long-term relationships with participants rather than short-term rehab stints
Collaborate with other therapists, providers, and disciplines
Have work/life balance - no after hours of documentation
On the day-to-day, you will: Conduct Occupational Therapy assessments in our facility and occasionally in the home to define participant care needs, preferences, and goals
Actively participate in IDT meetings to develop participant care plans
Deliver and document interventions as agreed upon in participant care plans
Provide active and passive exercise, muscle re-education, gait, and functional training of ADLs
Work with Therapy Assistants, providing training, instruction, and guidance needed to implement Functional Maintenance Programs (FMP)
Job requirements include: Bachelor's degree in occupational therapy; master's preferred
Two (2) years in a clinical setting with a frail or elderly population preferred
Valid California Occupational Therapy License, or proof of license eligibility
Must obtain CPR and First Aid certification within 180 days of hire and maintain certification thereafter; CPR and First Aid certification upon hire preferred
SKILLS AND CERTIFICATIONS : Licensed OT in California
