Occupational Therapist

nPay Range: $37.35–$57.74 per hour, based on qualifications and experience

nEmployment Type: Full-Time

nLocation: New Hampshire

nSetting: Outpatient Rehabilitation

nPosition Summary

nWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Occupational Therapist (OT) to provide comprehensive, patient-centered occupational therapy services in an outpatient rehabilitation setting.

nThe Occupational Therapist will evaluate patients, develop individualized treatment plans, administer therapeutic interventions, and monitor outcomes in accordance with physician orders, professional standards, and applicable policies and regulations.

nThe ideal candidate will have experience with evidence-based treatment approaches for common outpatient conditions affecting the upper extremity, including degenerative conditions, neurological impairments, orthopedic conditions, and post-operative care.

nEssential Responsibilities

nConduct comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations and assessments based on patient needs, diagnoses, and physician orders.

nDevelop individualized treatment plans and measurable goals based on evaluation findings and patient needs.

nAdminister occupational therapy treatments designed to restore function, improve independence, and prevent disability.

nUtilize evidence-based treatment techniques, including:

nManual therapy

nNeuro-rehabilitation techniques

nTherapeutic exercise and modalities

nFunctional activities

nOther appropriate occupational therapy interventions

nMonitor and evaluate patient response to treatment and modify the plan of care when appropriate.

nPerform reassessments according to established policies and clinical standards.

nAssess pain and other factors affecting a patient's ability to participate in rehabilitation and communicate concerns to the appropriate physician or provider.

nHelp patients achieve their highest possible level of function and independence within their individual capabilities.

nDevelop and implement patient and caregiver education plans.

nProvide instruction regarding home exercise programs, treatment plans, functional limitations, and strategies to promote independence.

nAddress the psychosocial, cultural, ethnic, and spiritual needs of patients and families with respect and sensitivity.

nMaintain a safe, clean, and organized treatment environment.

nOperate therapy equipment safely and correctly.

nCommunicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, clinical staff, and administrative personnel.

nCoordinate patient care with members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team.

nConsult with other departments and healthcare professionals as appropriate.

nParticipate in quality improvement and performance improvement initiatives.

nProvide clinical direction and supervision to Occupational Therapy Assistants, rehabilitation aides, mobility technicians, students, and other appropriate personnel.

nAssist with staff orientation, in-service education, and professional development activities.

nMaintain accurate and timely patient documentation in accordance with clinical and regulatory requirements.

nMaintain records related to patient care and department operations.

nEnsure patient charges are accurate and submitted in a timely manner.

nPerform other duties as assigned.

nRequired Qualifications

nGraduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program or equivalent.

nCurrent Occupational Therapist license or eligibility for licensure in New Hampshire.

nCurrent BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).

nStrong clinical assessment and treatment-planning skills.

nExcellent verbal and written communication abilities.

nAbility to work independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary healthcare team.

nCommitment to patient safety, quality care, and professional standards.

nPreferred Qualifications

nPrevious experience providing Occupational Therapy in an outpatient setting — Strongly Preferred.

nExperience treating upper-extremity conditions, including:

nDegenerative conditions

nNeurological impairments

nOrthopedic conditions

nPost-operative conditions

nFamiliarity with current evidence-based occupational therapy practices.

nExperience with manual therapy, neuro-rehabilitation, therapeutic exercise, and functional activities.

nExperience working with pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations.

nHourly Pay Range: $37.35–$57.74

nActual compensation will be determined based on qualifications, experience, and applicable organizational pay practices.

nPay Details: $36.35 to $37.35 per hour
