This is your chance to step into a role that not only allows you to make a lasting impact but also invites you to grow your career in a city celebrated for its resilience, artistic spirit, and diverse community.

We are in search of a full-time, licensed OTR/L to integrate into our dynamic and collaborative therapy team, one that cherishes innovation, connection, and tangible outcomes. Whether you're a seasoned therapist or just beginning your journey in this field, this position offers you a unique opportunity to engage in meaningful work while enjoying the rhythm of life in Oakland.

Develop Customized Treatment Plans: Assess patient needs to craft tailored therapy strategies that empower them to achieve their rehabilitative goals.

Implement Therapeutic Techniques: Leverage evidence-based methodologies to promote improvement in patients' motor functions, cognitive abilities, and daily activities.

Collaborate Within Interdisciplinary Teams: Work hand-in-hand with fellow OTs, PTs, STs, physicians, and nursing staff to ensure comprehensive, all-encompassing care.

Educate Patients and Families: Guide patients and their caregivers through therapy techniques to ensure continued progress at home.

Monitor Progress and Adjust Treatment: Keep track of clinical outcomes and modify treatment plans as necessary to maintain patient advancement.

Educational Requirements

A degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited educational institution.

Ongoing education or additional graduate certifications are encouraged and supported by our team.

Necessary Certifications

Active, valid Occupational Therapist (OTR/L) license.

NBCOT (National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy) certification is mandatory.

Key Skills

A genuine passion for assisting others and a drive to help individuals achieve their greatest level of independence.

Ability to communicate clearly and empathetically with patients and colleagues alike.

Creative thinking to adapt therapy approaches to meet diverse patient needs.

Capability to work both independently and collaboratively within a close-knit, interdisciplinary team environment.

Benefits Offered

A supportive, collegial environment fostering professional growth.

A full-time schedule with the flexibility of shifts.

Access to clinical mentorship and professional development resources.

Utilization of high-quality tools, facilities, and documentation systems.

Engagement in quality improvement and innovative projects.

As an Occupational Therapist here, you will transcend the mere treatment of symptoms; your mission will be to help patients reinstigate their routines, rebuild their confidence, and ignite joy in their everyday lives. You will guide patients recovering from strokes through fine motor rehabilitation and aid orthopedic patients in regaining their mobility post-surgery, employing your full expertise to deliver patient-centered care that nurtures resilience and independence.

We prioritize a personalized approach — it's not just about checklists; it's about understanding each patient's story and treating them with the respect and care they deserve. You'll work in tandem with other therapists, physicians, nurses, and social workers to craft rehabilitation plans that are as individualized as the people they are designed for.

Join us in a place where a collective spirit thrives. Our rehabilitation team is more than just co-workers; we support each other, exchange insights, and celebrate milestones, both big and small. Here, your contributions matter, your development is supported, and your positive impact is felt daily.

And let's not overlook the breathtaking backdrop: Oakland, California, where diverse cultures converge in harmony. The vibrant atmosphere is alive with art and music, while neighborhoods brim with local food spots serving everything from authentic soul food to gourmet vegan options. Surrounded by majestic hills, accessible parks, and thriving creative spaces, you'd be hard-pressed to find a location that balances professional ambition with personal fulfillment quite like this.

We seek a person who admires occupational therapy not only as a career but as a mission. If your heart races when you witness a patient plush with possibility—regaining a skill lost, walking with fewer assists, or expressing themselves in ways they haven't in years—you will find a welcoming home here with us.

Whether you're an established OTR/L or a newcomer just certified, if you're ready to infuse your work with passion, determination, and compassion, there's a place for you in our community. If the concept of merging quality care with an enriching lifestyle sounds appealing, then you've stumbled upon your ideal opportunity.

This is your open invitation to affect lives beyond the confines of a job title. Your work here will shape futures, fuel recovery stories, and restore lives. And you'll thrive in a region that values a harmonious blend of ambition and tranquility.

If you are ready to expand your horizons, support those in need, and root your life in a compassionate community, we look forward to meeting you.
