Job description
Provides occupational therapy assessment and treatment using advanced clinical skills in a specialty area of occupational therapy for patients referred to non-contracted and contracted facilities of the Rehabilitation Institute. Serves as a clinical resource for other staff members. May have an individual agreement with an academic institution for instructional services. Participates in research conducted within the Rehabilitation Institute.
nResponsibilities:
nnnMaintain documentation for all occupational therapy services, including assessments, follow-ups, and discharge summaries.
n
nnCo-sign occupational therapy assistant documentation biweekly.
n
nnCommunicate patient's status to referring physicians and healthcare team members.
n
nnComplete charge and statistical information to reflect services rendered.
n
nnSchedule patients to meet productivity standards while ensuring quality care.
n
nnProvide verbal/written home instructions to patients and/or family members.
n
nnSupervise clinical education programs for students from various universities.
n
nnMaintain professional license through continuing education and professional development.
n
nnPerform and supervise occupational therapy assessments, treatments, and plan adjustments.
n
nnParticipate in staff meetings and in-service education programs
n
nnGraduate of an accredited program approved by The Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE)
n
nnMust possess knowledge and skills required to provide quality customer service.Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:Active license in practicing state required. CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.

nnBasic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

nnNational Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
