Job description
Beacon Health System is seeking a compassionate and motivated PRN Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our growing rehabilitation team. In this role, you will evaluate patients, develop individualized treatment plans, and provide evidence-based occupational therapy services that help patients regain independence, improve function, and enhance quality of life following illness, injury, or surgery.
Whether you are an experienced therapist or a new graduate, you'll have the opportunity to work alongside a collaborative interdisciplinary team dedicated to exceptional patient care.
Responsibilities
Evaluate patients and develop individualized treatment plans based on physician orders and clinical findings.
Establish measurable functional goals and adjust treatment plans based on patient progress.
Provide evidence-based occupational therapy interventions to improve mobility, self-care, strength, coordination, and independence.
Educate patients and caregivers on therapeutic exercises, adaptive techniques, equipment use, and home programs.
Coordinate care with physicians, nurses, case managers, rehabilitation staff, and therapy assistants.
Participate in discharge planning to ensure a safe transition of care.
Complete timely and accurate documentation that meets regulatory and insurance requirements.
Supervise and collaborate with Occupational Therapy Assistants in accordance with state practice standards.
Serve as a resource for staff, students, and rehabilitation team members.
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
Current Indiana Occupational Therapist license or eligibility for licensure.
Current BLS/CPR certification.
Preferred: Acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, or hospital-based therapy experience.
Strong communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.

Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and assist patients throughout the workday.
Ability to safely lift, transfer, and position patients as needed.
Ability to perform CPR and respond appropriately in emergency situations.
