Job description
Step into a key role supporting students' growth and well-being as an Occupational Therapist in a dynamic educational setting near Cranston, RI. On a contract basis, you'll utilize your expertise to foster independence and participation for students with diverse needs.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist
Experience in school-based settings or willingness to adapt to educational environments
Strong understanding of IEP development and documentation
Ability to assess, plan, and implement therapy for students
Excellent communication skills, collaborating with educators, support staff, and families
Commitment to evidence-based practice and ongoing professional growth
Key Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments for students
Develop and implement individualized intervention plans based on student needs
Work as part of multidisciplinary teams to address educational and developmental goals
Provide direct therapy services and consult with classroom teachers for effective carryover of strategies
Maintain clear, timely documentation aligned with school and district requirements
Participate in IEP meetings, contributing valuable insights to support optimal student outcomes
Educate staff and families on strategies to promote students' independence across school environments
