Job description
Make a meaningful impact in education as a contract Occupational Therapist, working with school-aged children to foster independence and success in their school environment. This is an excellent opportunity for dedicated professionals passionate about supporting students' growth and well-being.
Key Qualifications:
Active Occupational Therapist license
Experience with pediatric or school-based occupational therapy preferred
Ability to assess and address a variety of student needs, including fine/gross motor skills, sensory processing, and classroom participation
Strong communication skills for collaboration with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams
Organized, adaptable, and motivated to create positive outcomes for students
Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive OT assessments to identify students' needs within the school setting
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to student goals and IEP requirements
Provide direct therapy services in individual or group settings
Document progress notes and maintain accurate student records
Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and parents to maximize student engagement and participation
Offer guidance and strategies to classroom staff to support accommodations and modifications
Attend and participate in IEP meetings, providing insight and recommendations based on assessments and ongoing observations
