Job description
Empower students and make a meaningful difference as a contracted Occupational Therapist supporting schools in the vibrant Biloxi, MS area. Use your expertise to help students overcome challenges, develop vital life skills, and achieve academic success in a collaborative educational setting.
Key Qualifications:
Valid Occupational Therapist license (MS state or eligible for reciprocity)
Previous experience in school-based OT preferred, but strong clinical backgrounds also considered
Proficient in developing and implementing IEP goals for diverse student populations
Strong organizational and communication skills for collaborating with educators, parents, and related service teams
Ability to adapt therapeutic strategies to meet individual student needs
Passion for fostering independence and success in students of all abilities
Role Responsibilities: Assess students' needs and deliver individualized occupational therapy services
Write and update IEP documentation; contribute as a member of IEP teams
Collaborate with teachers, families, and support staff to facilitate access to curriculum and implement accommodations/modifications
Maintain accurate records and provide progress reports as required
Support students' participation in classroom activities, self-care, and social-emotional development
Engage in professional development opportunities and remain current on best practices in school-based OT
