Job description
Seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Occupational Therapists for contract positions supporting K-12 students in a dynamic school environment near Hyattsville, MD. This rewarding opportunity involves working full-time (35 hours per week) to deliver exceptional services to students across various grade levels, helping them achieve their fullest potential in both academic and social settings.
Ideal candidates will bring expertise in school-based occupational therapy, collaborating with educators and families to design and implement effective treatment plans. You'll be part of a supportive community focused on fostering growth and independence for every student entrusted to your care.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Valid state licensure as an Occupational Therapist
Experience working within a K-12 school setting preferred
Familiarity with IEP processes and documentation requirements
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with staff and families
Ability to adapt strategies to meet diverse student needs and developmental levels
Core Responsibilities: Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services to students, conducting thorough assessments and developing individualized treatment plans
Participate in IEP meetings, contributing expertise to multidisciplinary teams
Document progress, maintain compliance with school system and regulatory requirements
Support students in developing fine motor, sensory, and functional life skills needed for classroom success
Offer training and resources to teachers and support staff to maximize student benefit from interventions
