Job description
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting elementary students as a school-based Occupational Therapist near Kent, WA for the academic year. This full-time role, totaling 35 hours per week, runs from early September to mid-June, with specific training days held in August (dates to be confirmed). You'll play a vital part in helping students thrive academically and develop essential life skills.
Ideal candidates will bring a strong background in school-based occupational therapy, home health, and healthcare-related OT functions, with the adaptability to address diverse pediatric needs. Collaboration and clear communication with staff and families are key to success in this position.
Key Qualifications:
Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist in Washington State (WA OT)
Demonstrated experience in school-based OT, with a focus on elementary caseloads
Background in occupational therapy within healthcare or home health settings
Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills
Ability to develop and implement individualized education and therapy plans
Not open to COTA candidates for this assignment
Primary Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive OT evaluations for elementary students
Design and carry out individualized therapy plans aligned with IEP goals
Collaborate closely with educators, support staff, and families to ensure cohesive care
Document student progress and maintain compliance with all school and state guidelines
Provide consultative services and resources to support student success in classroom environments
Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary team planning
