Job description
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting K-12 students as an Occupational Therapy professional. In a school-based environment located near Okemos, MI, you'll use your expertise to help students develop important skills for academic success, independence, and daily functioning. This position offers a unique schedule, working 3.5 days each week, giving you extended flexibility and balance.
Qualifications and Experience:
Valid Occupational Therapist license for practice in Michigan
Previous experience or clinical training in a K-12 educational setting preferred
Strong understanding of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and school documentation protocols
Effective communication and collaboration skills with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams
Adaptability and creative problem-solving abilities with diverse student needs
Primary Responsibilities: Assess students' needs and develop individualized therapy plans aligned with IEP goals
Deliver direct and consultative OT services to students across elementary, middle, and high school levels
Collaborate with teachers and staff to integrate therapeutic strategies into classroom activities
Maintain thorough records, progress reports, and timely documentation in accordance with district and state guidelines
Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and staff consultations
Provide training and resources to school staff and families as needed
