Job description
A rewarding opportunity awaits a dedicated Occupational Therapist who is passionate about supporting elementary-age students in a school-based setting. Located near Rochester, NY, this contract position offers a chance to make a real difference while working collaboratively within an inclusive educational environment. This long-term substitute role covers a K-5 caseload, providing essential therapy services to children while the school seeks a permanent provider-meaning there's also potential for a long-term fit if you are interested in pursuing a permanent placement.
Key Qualifications:
Hold an active New York State OT license
Master's degree in Occupational Therapy
Experience with school-based OT services, preferably within K-5 populations
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and support staff
Passion for helping children achieve academic and developmental milestones
Flexibility for a contract term of 30-45 days, with possibility for extension
Responsibilities: Deliver occupational therapy services to elementary students according to IEP goals
Evaluate students' functional levels, develop individualized treatment plans, and track progress
Consult and collaborate with educators and families to support student success
Participate in IEP meetings and contribute professional recommendations
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all therapy activities
Adapt therapy goals and techniques to meet each student's unique needs
