Occupational Therapist School Setting in Ruston, LA
Make a meaningful impact by providing vital occupational therapy services across several school sites, supporting students as they develop essential skills for learning and daily life. This part-time contract opportunity offers consistent hours and the chance to work on a collaborative team dedicated to helping children reach their fullest potential.
Key Qualifications:
Active, valid Louisiana OT license required
Previous experience in school-based occupational therapy strongly preferred
Ability to provide hands-on OT services across multiple schools
Willingness and ability to supervise a COTA a must
Strong organizational and time management skills for rotating between sites
Committed to compassionate, student-centered care and teamwork
What You'll Do:
Deliver occupational therapy services at four school sites, including high schools and an elementary campus
Serve a diverse caseload with needs ranging from motor skill development to adaptive strategies for classroom success
Complete PreK evaluations on Fridays as needed
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with student IEPs
Accurately document interventions, progress, and outcomes in accordance with district and program guidelines
Collaborate closely with educators, other therapists, and families to support each child’s educational journey
Provide supervision and mentorship for a COTA, ensuring best practices throughout all services
Schedule and Details:
Part-time: 20-25 hours per week
Services provided onsite on Tuesdays and Wednesdays; PreK evaluations conducted on Fridays
Contract position through the current academic year, with the potential to continue through late May 2027
