Job description
Make a positive impact in the lives of students by bringing your expertise as an Occupational Therapist to a welcoming school environment on a contract basis. You will collaborate with exceptional education teams to support student development, enhance functional skills, and empower learners to succeed both in and out of the classroom.
Desired Experience & Qualifications:
Master's degree or higher in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
Current Occupational Therapist license and eligibility to practice in North Carolina
Prior experience delivering occupational therapy services in an educational setting preferred
Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with students, educators, and families
Ability to develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on student needs
Familiarity with IEP process and documentation in accordance with state and federal guidelines
Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine student needs and establish baselines
Develop, implement, and monitor individualized occupational therapy interventions within the school setting
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to promote student participation and success
Assist students in developing the fine motor, visual motor, sensory processing, and self-care skills necessary for academic and functional independence
Maintain accurate records and contribute to IEP meetings and multidisciplinary teams
Educate staff and caregivers on effective strategies to generalize skills across school and home environments
