nEvaluates and treats patients with physical, emotional, cognitive and/or psychosocial deficits.
nJob Responsibilities and Requirements:
nPRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
nnnAssesses patient 's ability to safely and effectively perform independent living skills. Designs the appropriate plan of care, including type and frequency of treatment.
n
nnImplements the treatment plan using appropriate modalities. Documents findings of patient progress. Monitors and modifies the plan of care as needed. Seeks consultation as necessary.
n
nnEducates the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits. Plans and/or assists with patient discharge from therapy services and provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and support programs.
n
nnOversees the care provided by designated individuals according to established regulations and practice standards.
n
nnWorks in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
n
nnPerforms other duties as assigned.
n
n nEDUCATION
nnBachelor's, Master's or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy, or related area as required to obtain licensure in state of practice
n nEXPERIENCE
nnNo experience required
n nPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
nnnConstant standing.
n
nnFrequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
n
nnFrequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication.
n
nnFrequent use of hearing to distinguish body sounds and/or hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
n
nnFrequent use of vision for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more).
n
nnFrequent walking, reaching, gripping and keyboard use/data entry.
n
nnOccasional bending, stooping, climbing, kneeling, sitting, squatting, twisting and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
n
nnOccasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
n
nnOccasional lifting/moving patients.
n
nnOccasional use of vision to judge distances and spatial relationships and to identify and distinguish colors.
n
nnOccasional driving.
n
nnRare crawling.
n
n nREQUIRED PROFESSIONAL LICENSE AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
nResuscitation Certification Requirement: Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) required within 90 day of employment. Other resuscitation certifications may be required dependent on department.
