We have an exciting opportunity for you to join HCA Florida Palms West Hospital which is part of the nation's leading provider of healthcare services, HCA Healthcare.An Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA or COTA) administers patient-centered rehabilitative care in inpatient and outpatient settings by following treatment plans designed by a licensed occupational therapist.Core ResponsibilitiesPatient Care: Deliver direct, age-specific therapeutic treatments and exercises to help patients improve motor skills and functional independencePlan Implementation: Execute intervention strategies, guide therapeutic exercises, and instruct patients on using special adaptive equipment or everyday task modificationsProgress Monitoring: Document patient responses, track daily living progress, and communicate status updates directly to the clinical teamEducation: Teach patients, families, and caregivers safe home techniques and adaptive strategies for daily livingSafety & Compliance: Participate in infection control, organizational safety, fire safety, and departmental equipment training programsQualifications & RequirementsEducation: Associate degree in an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant programLicensure: Clear and active state license (FL Dept of Health OTA/COTA license)Life Support: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within first 30 days of hireSkills: Critical thinking, good interpersonal communication skills, and basic computer literacyHCA Florida Palms West Hospital, offers a total rewards package that supports the health, life, career and retirement of our colleagues.
