Child Protective Services Case AideOpening Date: July 22, 2026Closing Date: August 4, 2026Job Class Code: 5074Grade: 18 (Pro/Tech)Salary: $20.73 – $26.48 per hour**Employees in this classification begin at $20.73 per hour, step 3 of the pay scalePosition Numbers: Location: We have one vacancy that can be located in our Augusta, Portland, or Biddeford offices.Currently, this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship or STEM OPT extensions.Core Responsibilities:This is a specialized Child Protective Services Case Aide position. As a Child Protective Services Case Aide, you will play a vital role in the health and wellbeing of children served by the Office of Child and Family Services – Child Welfare division.You will be:Assisting in gathering health records for children in custody of the DepartmentReviewing health records, child welfare reports, Health Info Net, and assisting with subsequent data entry, analysis, and uploading to the electronic information system.Tracking and reporting of health records and information gatheredCommunication and collaboration with medical office personnel and child welfare staffAssisting in tracking, documenting and electronic filing of informed consent formsTracking and responding to psychotropic medication review requestsAll other tasks, projects, and duties as assignedA successful candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, organizational and computer skills. This position is part of a team dynamic that's main objective is to assist, inform, and interact with OCFS staff, resource parents and medical providers.Minimum Qualifications:To qualify, your background must include training, education, or experience in office and client support work that demonstrates 1) competency in applying a proficient knowledge of the principles and practices in assisting management with policies and procedures, and 2) the ability to use independent judgment, initiative, and decision-making on complex administrative and direct service activities.This position requires the possession of a valid Class C Maine Motor Vehicle Operator's License.Preference will be extended to candidates possessing the following skills/experience:Prior experience with medical records or work in the medical or mental health field.Skilled in the use of standard work-place applications (MS Word, EXCEL, Outlook, etc.).Benefits of working for the State of Maine:Work-Life Fit – Rest is essential.
