Security Officer OpportunitiesAEGIS Security & Investigations is looking to hire experienced security officers and honorably discharged veterans who can work either full-time or as part-time armed and/or unarmed officers. Additional opportunities available with the company such as bouncers, doorman, VIP security, bodyguard, EP agent, special security officer, flex officers, rovers, security supervisor, security manager, security direction, estate security, executive protection.Posts include private events, schools, estates, and other special details in the Central Valley, CA and its surrounding areas.Must have Police Credentials (unexpired HR218) and authorization to carry a concealed firearm with a California Guard Card (BSIS permit), Firearms Permit (BSIS permit).Job DescriptionThe primary roles are crime and violence prevention, and customer service.Assisting with the functions of physical and personal security, and safety measures for clients.Patrolling the work site on foot up to the full duration of the shift or as otherwise instructed to prevent and detect signs of intrusions and ensure security of all entry points of the property.Writing reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, missing equipment, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.Performing access control procedures by monitoring and regulating entrance and departure of site employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises.Investigating disturbances and answering alarms.Circulate among visitors, patrons, or employees to preserve order and protect property through crowd control measures.Responding to on site emergencies by calling local law enforcement or other first responders.Conducting pat down and metal detecting search.Communicating and enforcing applicable law, policy, and codes.Interacting with colleagues, supervisors, clients, client employees, visitors, and other persons at the work site.All job offers are initially for unarmed security positions with AEGIS Security & Investigations.Employees who possess a valid BSIS Exposed Firearm Permit and pepper spray permit may qualify for armed assignments when available and approved.Minimum RequirementsExperienced Off Duty Police Officer or Retired Police OfficerValid Government ID and Social Security CardValid Police Credentials and CCWValid Firearms permit issued by the California Bureau of Security and Investigative ServicesValid Guard Card issued by the California Bureau of Security and Investigative Services40 hours of BSIS training courses and most recent annual refresherA GED or High School Diploma / Transcript (Associates Degree or some verifiable college preferred)Ability to perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodationHave excellent ENGLISH verbal and written skillsHave a neat professional appearanceHave access to reliable transportationHave a track record of being ON-TIME to work and having integrity in your workA cell phone that receives text messages and has access to the internet as well as an email addressOwn a black business suit, white button down dress shirt, black tie, belt, socks, and dress shoes or shined boots, and a small flashlightAvailability, Pay, & PerksThis job requires on-call availability.
