Job PostingThe City of Wichita is NOT an E-Verify Employer.Distinguishing Features of WorkThis is entry-level seasonal or part-time work with assignments in a wide variety of areas – Recreation Center, Athletics, Tennis Center, Watson Park or golf course clubhouse. Employees will interact directly with activity participants. THIS IS A LIMITED PART-TIME POSITION The day and hours for this position: Varies Bargaining Unit: No Union RepresentationExamples of Work PerformedServes customers at pro shop and/or concession counter.Receives and disburses cash.Prepares and handles food.Stocks concession products.Cleans and stages golf carts.Picks up, cleans and packages driving range golf balls.Performs basic equipment maintenance.Supervises children, organizes and leads games and assists with class instruction.Officiates or keeps score for sports activities.Perform basic custodial duties.Sets up and takes down building furnishings and arrangements.Completion of work assignments may require operation of a vehicle.These examples are not intended to be all-inclusive.Other related duties may be assigned as needed.Requirements of WorkKnowledge of arithmeticAbility to count money and make changeAbility to use a computer to access, interpret and record informationAbility to accept and respond to a steady volume of requests for information and/or service, both in person and over the telephoneAbility to lift and carry stacks, boxes or other loads weighing up to 40 poundsAbility to teach students who have a wide variety of experience and aptitudeAbility to communicate orally clearly and effectivelyAble to maintain effective working relationships with associates, participants and the public.May require ability to acquire and maintain a valid Kansas Driver's License.An employee will not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.Experience and TrainingRequired Experience and Training Six (6) months in a customer-facing environment Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need of a sponsorship.
