Office Maintenance TechnicianThe Office Maintenance Technician is responsible for providing a safe and efficient working environment for our office employees. This position assists with the maintenance and repairs office furnishings and other equipment throughout the corporate office and can aid in a variety of technical repairs and general office support.This is a contract position that is on-site five days per week. We foster a culture built around our Foundation Principles, which define how we approach our relationships with our employees, vendors, customers and communities and influence every aspect of our business.Principal Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerform maintenance and repairs for office areas, furnishings, bathrooms, and equipment, including kitchen appliances, plumbing, painting, light HVAC and electrical work, copier repairs, and other equipment used in business operationsMaintain a clean, safe, and well-organized work environment, ensuring the safety and security of employees, customers, and propertySupport office reconfigurations, special projects, and company events; assist in coordinating work performed by external vendors when neededUse Service Channel software to log and track repairs, preventative maintenance, and special projects, ensuring timely completion and accurate recordsPerform preventative maintenance on building and kitchen equipment to keep them in good working orderCommunicate effectively with managers and team members to provide updates on repairs, maintenance, and project progressAdhere to all safety policies and procedures, maintaining discretion with confidential and sensitive informationArrive promptly for scheduled shifts and remain flexible to take on additional duties as business needs evolvePerforms other requested tasks and dutiesExperience and Skills RequiredHigh school diploma or equivalent5 or more years of general maintenance experience in an office, retail, or facilities environment preferred (or an equivalent combination of skills and hands-on experience), including the safe use of hand tools, power tools, and gauges, and basic skills in plumbing, painting, and electrical workAbility to read and interpret MEP (Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing) drawings and schematics, research equipment for repairs and parts, and partner with additional experts when neededProficiency with basic computer programs such as Outlook, Word, and Excel, and the ability to learn work order systems (Service Channel) and shipping platforms (FedEx manifesting)Strong problem-solving and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and successfully manage multiple projectsProfessional and approachable, with strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization in an office settingFlexible, adaptable, and self-motivated, with a positive attitude, strong attention to detail, and a willingness to share knowledge with othersCommitted to working scheduled hours, with flexibility to adjust as business needs change; based in the Dallas Fort Worth MetroplexDedicated to safety and the ability to maintain focus and make thoughtful decisions that support our customers and our companyCompany will not pay costs associated with immigration sponsorship.The Container Store promotes a smoke-free, drug-free environment.We are proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer and comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act
