Job description

nnGENERAL SUMMARY

n

nnThe Office Nurse Practitioner works under supervision and clinical guidance of the practice physician(s). Engages in the practices constituting the practice of medicine in collaboration with and under the medical direction and supervision of a licensed physician. Reports to supervising physician(s) and designated manager.

n

nnESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

n

nnPerforms a wide variety of patient care activities and accommodative services to support the medical practice with effective utilization of healthcare resources.

n

nnDemonstrates excellence in practice characterized by quality patient care and participation in formal and informal patient and staff education.

n

nnPerforms other duties as assigned.

n

nnLICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS

n

nnRequired Licenses and/or Certifications

n

nnCurrent State license as an APRN with specialization in Family or Pediatrics.

n

nnCurrent state license as a Registered Nurse or Registered Nurse holding a valid Compact State license

n

nnMeets and maintains State Licenser, Certification and/or educational requirements as a Nurse Practitioner.

n

nnCurrent CPR certification required.

n

nnMINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

n

nnRequired Education and Experience

n

nnMust provide record of a completed diploma (or equivalent) or academic transcript for those areas performing complexity testing.

n

nnPreferred Education and Experience

n

nn3- 5 years of pediatric experience preferred.

n

nnRequired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

n

nnAdvanced professional knowledge of nursing theory and practice.

n

nnWORKING CONDITIONS

n

nnNormal patient care environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like. Frequent exposure to communicable disease and moderately adverse working conditions due to performance of certain patient care activities.

n
