Main Purpose of Job
The Office Services Clerk Lead serves as a primary administrative guide and operational link between junior support staff and executive leadership. Working under the direct supervision of the Front Office Supervisor, this role oversees daily, administrative operations by assigning, reviewing, and approving the work of junior clerical staff. The role focuses on training team members, streamlining front-office workflow, and ensuring strict adherence to agency regulation, operational procedures, and task deadlines.
POSITION DUTIES
Acts as the designated lead staff member performing a range of clerical duties, covering the Job Center as assigned, and training new administrative support staff.
Directly serves clients by issuing approved EBT cards to deliver eligible program benefits.
Assists with the agency's crisis management operations, delivering critical support services to individuals experiencing homelessness.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Two years of experience performing clerical duties.
Notes:
1. Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year up to two years of the required experience.
2. Six months clerical training with three courses in subjects such as keyboarding, clerical math, word processing, spreadsheets, data base, graphics presentation, proofreading, or office etiquette may be substituted for six months of the required experience.
3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Administrative classifications or in Administrative, Clerical, or Office Services specialty codes in the Clerical Support field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.
One year experience using Microsoft Office Suite.
One year experience as a lead worker, assigning, reviewing, and approving the work of lower-level administrative support staff and experience in training them.
One year experience maintaining a filing/tracking systems.

EXAMINATION PROCESS
The examination will consist of a rating of your education, training, and experience as presented on your application and as they relate to the requirements of the position. You may be asked to complete a supplemental questionnaire. The supplemental questionnaire may be used as part of the rating process. Therefore, it is important that you provide complete and accurate information on your application. For education obtained outside the U.S., a copy of the equivalent American education as determined by a foreign credential evaluation service is required prior to hire.
