Job description
Offset Plate MakerAs an Offset Plate Maker at Quad, you'll play a hands-on role in bringing print to life. You'll oversee the plate-making process from start to finish — generating digital impositions, producing press-ready plates, maintaining equipment, and ensuring every plate meets our quality standards. You'll collaborate with internal and external customers to keep the printing process running smoothly and efficiently.Key responsibilities include:Create digital plate surfaces with precision and careMaintain platemaking equipment, including daily and weekly processor maintenance, loading materials, and troubleshooting Creo errorsLoad and unload platemaking materials to and from equipment to manufacture plates for press usageTroubleshoot equipment and process issues as they arise, keeping production on trackInspect plates for quality, ensuring every product meets our high standardsTrack and move job components through production using Smart toolsJob requirements:Education:High School diploma or GED required. Equivalent training and experience may be considered in place of formal education. Appropriate education and/or experience may be substituted on an equivalent basis.Experience:No prior experience required — we'll help you build the skills you need to succeed.Knowledge, skills & abilities:Basic working knowledge of computer systems used in the Plate room (Mac OS/Windows OS & Imaging Job Control)Basic mechanical skillsAbility to work schedules necessary to meet production needs — shifts may vary; overtime as requiredKnowledge of press layout configurations, including Saddle Stitch, Perfect Binding, Gatefolds, half and ¾ websBasic understanding of workflows and procedures in the areaAbility to read, comprehend, and write instructions and correspondence, and present information when necessaryAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in units of measureWe offer comprehensive benefits for eligible employees including medical, prescription, dental and vision insurance, 401(k) retirement savings, paid time off, holidays and additional benefits.
