Job description

LEO Satellite TechnicianLEO is Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. Its mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet to customers and communities around the world, and we've designed the system with the capacity, flexibility, and performance to serve a wide range of customers, from individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity. We are looking for talented technicians to help full-scale production of the Leo satellites. The success of Leo depends on the quality, reliability, cost, manufacturability, throughput, and security of the products that you deliver. To be successful you need to be highly motivated and detail oriented while showing the highest standards of execution.Key job responsibilities:Follow work instructions and safety proceduresAssemble and test with emphasis to detail, an assortment of LRUs, electrical-mechanical assemblies, avionics, or other complex aerospace buildsParticipate in process improvements, maintain floor stock inventoryIndependently execute and prioritize work to meet company deliverablesExecute test procedures for component and system level testing maintenanceChampion safety requirements in all designated zones and work locationsEnsure lab equipment is maintained and calibratedSupports some preventative maintenance activities on test equipment and data acquisition systemsReceive shipments and coordinate deliveries with recipients (Using pallet jacks, kit carts, etc)Your work may include contributing to improving SOPs and safety proceduresBasic Qualifications:6 month+ years in a high traceability manufacturing environment, or relevant trade school certification6 month + years using hand tools and/or precision measuring instruments (i.e., Calipers, multi-meters, torque wrenches)Experience reading, interpreting and working from engineering documentation and/or drawingsPreferred Qualifications:Experience in Space Vehicle/Satellite Operations, Space Communications or related industryAircraft & Powerplant (A&P) certification/license • CFOT certification or equivalent experienceAirman or Avionic certification or equivalent experienceASE certification or equivalent experienceExperience in fast-paced production environment with flight hardwareExperience working with FOD, ESD sensitive hardware and clean room requirementsExperience working with Electro-Mechanical Assembly, Final Integration, Fiber Optics/Optical and/or Harness IntegrationAbility to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a high-paced, challenging work environmentAmazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. As a total compensation company, additional earnings may include shift differentials and overtime pay. Final pay will be based on factors including shift selection and location.
