Job DescriptionJob DescriptionAbout the Role:
Newport Hospice is looking for a compassionate and dedicated On Call LVN Runner to join our team in Orange County. This is a meaningful opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of patients and families during their most critical moments, providing skilled nursing support when it matters most.
Responsibilities:
Respond to on-call patient needs promptly, providing skilled nursing care in home and facility settings
Conduct patient assessments and report changes in condition to the supervising RN or physician
Administer medications, wound care, and other treatments as directed by the care plan
Provide comfort-focused, palliative care in alignment with hospice philosophy
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary hospice team members
Document patient visits, observations, and interventions accurately and in a timely manner
Offer emotional support and education to patients and families during end-of-life care
Requirements:
Active Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license in the state of California
Prior hospice, home health, or palliative care experience preferred
Ability to work flexible on-call shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patients and families
Valid California driver's license and reliable transportation required
Compassionate, patient-centered approach to end-of-life care
