Practice Setting and Clinical Scope
This position is based in a respected outpatient setting, focusing on the diagnosis, staging, precision medicine, symptom management, and treatment of hematology and oncology patients. You will provide oversight for both the oncology/hematology clinic and infusion services. The infusion center offers treatments including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, blood and platelet transfusions, hormone therapy, antibiotic therapy, rheumatoid arthritis injections, and therapeutic phlebotomies. With a patient volume of 15-20 per day, you will be engaged in a professionally rewarding and challenging environment.
Schedule and Assignment Details
The assignment includes a weekday schedule of Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with remote call coverage from Friday 5 PM to Monday 8 AM. Weekday nights involve remote call from Monday to Thursday, 5 PM to 8 AM. The locum assignment provides a unique opportunity to manage your work-life balance effectively while delivering high-quality patient care.
Support and Work Environment
Enjoy working within a collaborative and supportive team environment. The clinic is staffed with one clinic RN, two medical assistants, two front office clerks, one quality analyst/billing specialist, and ten infusion RNs, ensuring comprehensive support for your practice. The facility operates using iKnowmed (Clinic) and Cerner (Infusion) EMR systems, streamlining patient management and care delivery.
Qualifications
Candidates must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Oncology or Hematology, with a current CA license and DEA certification. A fellowship in the field is required, and ACLS certification is necessary if requesting moderate sedation privileges. This position requires individuals who are currently active in their practice, ready to step into a dynamic role.
