A Nursing Assistant provides patient-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), and is essential to keeping the unit functioning smoothly. Gain valuable, hands-on experience while changing the lives of your patients at Sanford Health!ResponsibilitiesProvide assistance with basic health care needs including bathing, grooming, toileting, and eating, while supporting emotional and spiritual needsRecord vital statistics, blood glucose levels, and other basic health informationAssist with patient transfers and ambulationPerform clerical work related to scheduling and documenting patient healthcarePrepare and clean patient treatment areas, living areas, and medical equipmentDispose of biomedical waste in accordance with standards and policyQualificationsHigh school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not requiredCertified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is preferredObtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certificationsIf working in North Dakota (ND) or Minnesota (MN) and not a Certified Nursing Assistant, must be on the NA Registry as a Nursing Assistant through the North Dakota Dept. of Health or through the Minnesota Dept. of Health within four months from the date of hireIf working in Wisconsin, must be on the Wisconsin Nurse Aide Registry with current work eligibility or a student nurse, currently enrolled at a school approved by the Wisconsin Board of Nursing, who has completed a basic nursing course and 16 hours of clinical experienceSanford offers an attractive benefits package for qualifying full-time and part-time employees.
