We are looking for an Oncology Pharm Technician Specialist. This role involves performing pharmacy tasks and duties as delegated by a licensed pharmacist. These tasks include initiating or receiving communications with patient, provider, and/or team members to facilitate patient care for refill authorization requests, assisting in patient appointment review, medical records review, insurance authorization review, processing of prescriptions, including investigational medications utilized in clinical trials in compliance with policies and procedures set forth by the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines and/or medications associated with Risk Evaluation Mitigation Strategies (REMS). The Registered Pharmacy Technician may also assist with compounding, preparation and distribution of pharmaceutical and investigational medications following USP standards and hospital policy, inventory stewardship, maintains records and creates reports required by law, and processing of documents required by the hospital.
Job Title: Oncology Pharm Technician Specialist
Minimum Education Level: High School Diploma/GED
Minimum Field of Study: Must have graduated from an accredited Pharmacy Technician training program or have experience that qualifies them for licensure as outlined in Florida Statutes, Section 465.014
Preferred Education Level: Associate's Degree
Preferred Field of Study: Examples include but not limited to: Pharmacy Management, Business, Medical Assisting, Communication, Health Information Technology, Accounting, Finance
Licensure Certification Needed: Yes
Minimum Licensure: Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPhT)
Training Required: Microsoft Office Professional programs, Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe, etc. Pharmacy automation software and equipment and pharmacy wholesaler systems Effective processing, interdepartmental coordination, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills and delegation with follow up skills. Ability to follow oral/written instructions and communicate effectively in English.
Preferred Licensure: Hazardous Drug Management Certificate Certified Compounded Sterile Preparation Technician (CSPT) Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT)
Salary Range: $21.65 - $33.05
Salary ranges posted for this position represent the expected base pay range for the role. Actual compensation may vary based on location and a variety of job-related factors, including experience, skills, education, and internal equity among Team Members in similar positions.
