Job description

About MultiCare Cancer Institute

MultiCare Cancer Institute is a physician-led, multi-specialty group within MultiCare Health System, delivering integrated hematology, oncology, radiation, surgical and supportive care across Washington state. Each year, we diagnose and treat more than 6,000 new cancer cases across Olympia, Spokane, Tacoma and Yakima.

We bring together advanced pathology, imaging and evidence-based treatment with holistic supportive services to provide personalized, high-quality cancer care. As we continue to grow, we are building the Pacific Northwest's most comprehensive and high-value oncology network-projected to double in volume over the next five years.

Shape the Future of Cancer Care in the South Sound

MultiCare Cancer Institute is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Radiation Oncologist to join our growing cancer program in Olympia, Washington.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a physician seeking the best of both worlds: the close-knit culture, meaningful patient relationships, and work-life balance of a community-based practice combined with the resources, technology investments, and innovation of a large integrated health system.

As part of MultiCare Cancer Institute, you'll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team dedicated to providing high-quality, patient-centered cancer care while helping expand access to advanced oncology services across the South Sound region.

A Program Investing in the Future

Over the next year, our department will undergo a major technology expansion, including:

Installation of a new Varian TrueBeam with HyperSight imaging platform (December 2026)

Addition of a Varian Bravos HDR brachytherapy program (December 2026)

Continued growth of our prostate cancer program, including Barrigel and fiducial marker placement procedures

Expansion of our radiopharmaceutical therapy program, with patients already receiving treatment and a strategic focus on increasing access throughout the South Sound region

These investments create a unique opportunity for an incoming physician to help build and grow advanced oncology services while increasing patient access to innovative cancer treatments closer to home.

What Sets This Opportunity Apart

Beyond the technology, what truly distinguishes our practice is our people.

We are a small, energized, and highly collaborative team that values innovation, teamwork, and patient-centered care. Providers have the opportunity to make a visible impact, contribute new ideas, and help shape the future direction of the program.

In this role, you'll have the opportunity to:

Serve as a key clinical leader within a growing radiation oncology program

Build meaningful relationships with patients, colleagues, and referring providers

Participate in the development of new service lines and treatment programs

Expand community awareness of advanced cancer treatment options

Strengthen referral partnerships throughout the region

Collaborate closely with medical oncologists, surgeons, APPs, nursing teams, and support staff in a multidisciplinary environment

This is an ideal role for a physician who enjoys helping build programs, embracing innovation, and delivering exceptional cancer care in a community-focused setting.

Practice Highlights

Established radiation oncology practice within MultiCare Cancer Institute

Collaborative multidisciplinary cancer care model

Strong referral base and growing patient volumes
