Radiation Oncology Locum Tenens Job Details Specialty: Radiation Oncology Job Type: Locum tenens physician Healthcare Setting: Outpatient radiation oncology clinic Location: Rockford, Illinois Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Coverage: Full-time weekday coverage; consecutive coverage blocks may be considered Call: Some night call and occasional weekend coverage Rounding: None Procedures: No procedures required Initial Assignment: 13 weeks, August 3, 2026-November 2, 2026, with potential to extend Weekly Estimated Pay: $11,550-$12,370 Radiation Oncologist Job Requirements Doctor of Medicine degree and current physician licensure applicable to practice in Illinois At least 1 year of experience practicing radiation oncology Ability to evaluate and manage patients receiving radiation therapy in an outpatient oncology setting Experience reviewing medical histories, imaging, and pathology for new patient consultations Ability to collaborate effectively with medical physicists, dosimetry teams, medical oncology, surgery, and clinical support staff Availability for the required weekday schedule, night call, and occasional weekend coverage Radiation Oncology Physician Responsibilities Evaluate and manage patients undergoing radiation therapy in an outpatient clinic Conduct new patient consultations and review relevant medical history, imaging, and pathology Develop and oversee radiation treatment plans in collaboration with medical physicists and dosimetry professionals Provide follow-up care and survivorship planning for patients after treatment Coordinate patient care with medical oncology, surgery, and other members of the multidisciplinary oncology team Provide scheduled weekday coverage and participate in assigned night call and occasional weekend responsibilities Apply now for this Radiation Oncologist locum tenens opportunity in Rockford, Illinois, and join a collaborative outpatient oncology care team.
