Join Our Team at Avera Yankton
We re seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Radiation Oncologist to join a highly integrated Radiation Oncology Service Line team of 7 physicians serving six Avera Cancer Institutes spanning a footprint of 72,000 square miles in SD and southwest Minnesota.
New Comprehensive Cancer opened June 2026
Newly renovated facility offers medical oncology, radiation oncology with a newly installed Varian TrueBeam, chemotherapy infusion, clinical research, pharmacy, laboratory, chapel/meditation room, wig salon, genetic counseling and other support services.
What You ll Do
Avera Cancer Institute Yankton-Radiation Oncology currently features:VMAT, IMRT & 3D Conformal External Beam Radiation Therapy
Raystation/MIM Treatment Planning
Elekta Infinity Accelerator and Mosaiq EMR
Highly regarded care team with great patient scores

Opportunity to participate in Service Line Committees: Chart Rounds, Multidisciplinary Conferences in a wide variety of diseases, Clinical Quality Review, Service line Steering Committees and Cancer Committee
Our comprehensive cancer program includes not only Radiation Oncology, but also includes Medical Oncology, Gynecologic Oncology, Hematology, Transplant & Cellular Therapy, Comprehensive Breast Surgery, Cancer Research, Palliative Medicine, Integrative Medicine and more
Schedule
Monday through Friday, 8am-4:30pm
1:8 Service Line weekend call rotation, first call is taken by our Avera Cancer Institute Navigation Center
24/7 Oncology Nursing first-call coverage through the navigation center
Qualifications
MD or DO, licensed (or eligible) in South Dakota
Board-certified or board-eligible in Radiation Oncology
DEA certification (SD and federal)
