Position Summary

The Departmentof Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine at the University of New Mexico inAlbuquerque, New Mexico, invites applications for a full-time faculty positionat the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor. Theprimary appointment will be in the Department of Anesthesiology & CriticalCare Medicine with clinical responsibilities in the Main Operating Room .Successful candidates will join a collaborative group of experiencedanesthesiologists committed to excellence in patient care, education, research,and service.

UNM Hospital isthe only Level I Trauma Center in New Mexico. Our Critical Care facilitiesinclude 192 beds, with 96 dedicated ICU beds, a 20-bed pediatric intensive careunit, 24-bed neonatal intensive care unit, 18-bed trauma surgical intensivecare unit, 6-bed burn center, and 24-bed neurosurgical intensive care unit.

The successfulcandidate will provide high-quality anesthesiology care, participate in theeducation and mentorship of learners, and contribute to departmental academicand service initiatives. Qualifications

MinimumQualifications:

Must holdunrestricted medical license

Must hold M.D.or equivalent

Must be BoardCertified by the American Board of Anesthesiology or within three years ofresidency and active in the certification process

PreferredQualifications ResidentTeaching Experience

Research andScholarly Activities

Must haverecent and active experience taking call in level 1 or level 3 trauma centers.

A demonstratedcommitment to cultivate an understanding of the rich and varied cultures of NewMexico and to the success of the university's mission to serve local and globalcommunities.
